Tush and Pat are back with a hand made working model of a beach capstan, made by them from recycled materials. The model horse capstan and a typical Hastings fishing boat from 1950s feature in their talk, and they will demonstrate how the boats used to be pulled up from the sea onto the beach. If you are interested in the history of the Hastings fishing industry, Tush and Pat have plenty of knowledge and anecdotes to keep you entertained! Tea & Biscuits available. Tickets £5 from Hastings History House, 21 Courthouse Street. Usual open hours Thursday to Saturday 11am to 4pm, but during Old Town Carnival Week will be open every day.
